Gwinnett Daily Post-The owners of a Suwanee-based business have a date with the president of the United States this coming week.

Winton Machine is one of the businesses that will participate in the Made In America Product Showcase at the White House on Monday. The company said in a statement that President Donald Trump is hosting the showcase to put a spotlight on companies that make their products in the U.S.

Co-owners Lisa Winton and George Winton will represent the company at the event.

“We are excited about the upcoming trip and feel honored to represent our home state of Georgia at the event,” Lisa Winton said. “When my husband and I started our company 20 years ago, we had difficulty finding government and financial resources that supported a manufacturing startup.

“It’s truly great to see and experience a positive focus on manufacturing these days.”

The company said it plans to show off a machine it uses to create coaxial cable that is used for telecommunication and military purposes, the CX6 All Electric Semi-Rigid Coax CNC Bender, during the event.

Winton Machine received the U.S. Commercial Service’s Export Achievement Award last year from U.S. Rep. Rob Woodall, R-Ga. The Commercial Service is part of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.

Woodall’s office said he plans to attend the showcase on Monday to show support for the company. Meanwhile, the congressman praised the company on Friday for being included in the showcase at the White House.

“I couldn’t be prouder of what Lisa, George, and the whole Winton Machine team have accomplished,” Woodall said. “I’ve had the opportunity to visit their operation on more than one occasion to see their remarkable craftsmanship and innovation firsthand, and I’m thrilled that the White House – and now so many more – have taken notice as well.

“Being invited to participate in the Made in America Product Showcase is a tremendous honor that they have certainly earned, and I look forward to joining them at the White House Monday.”
